Official Bio – Michael A. DeJesus III, Ph.D.

Dr. Michael A. DeJesus III is a systems strategist and policy leader with nearly 20 years of experience advancing economic mobility and opportunity across education, government, nonprofit, and economic development systems. His work focuses on designing and aligning complex systems that connect strategy, policy, and execution to drive measurable outcomes.

His experience spans multi-state initiatives, institutional systems, and public sector strategy, including directing a 16-state portfolio through the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB). His work has centered on expanding access, strengthening coordination across institutions, and advancing policies and systems that improve long-term outcomes.

A first-generation college graduate, Dr. DeJesus holds a Ph.D. in Education Policy, Research, and Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He has been recognized as a Forty Under 40 awardee and serves on multiple boards supporting youth development and regional strategy.

Across his work, Dr. DeJesus is known for translating complex systems into aligned strategy and actionable outcomes—bringing a cross-sector perspective to the challenges of access, equity, and long-term mobility.
